Three arrested for 15 Airtel joint boxes theft, shutting down Chandel Airtel network

Chandel police arrested three accused for stealing fifteen Airtel joint boxes which were fixed in between Komlathabi and Chandel oil pump, reportedly stolen on June 21, 2021 at about 3.30 PM causing shutdown of Airtel network in Chandel headquarters area.

The three arrested have been identified as Imtiyas Khan (24) S/o (L) Indadulla Khan of Chingya Leikai, Moijing Thoubal, Sanatomba Maibam (30) S/o (L) Ajayruddin Maibam of Wangma Taba Moijing Thoubal and Noor Khan (42) S/o Jaan Md. of Khang Manung Moijing Thoubal, Thoubal District, Manipur.

Khumanthem Kiran Kumar singh, Airtel Company Fiber Side Engineer, Imphal on June 22, 5:00 PM lodged a written complaint report at Chandel Police station regarding the case.

On receiving the complaint, a team of Chandel Police led by Shankerjit Loitongbam, Addl. SP/Chandel under the supervision of SP Chandel L. Deben Singh, MPS during investigation seized one van bearing reg. No. MN 01AG 7332 which was used during the commission of crime.

Further, from the disclosure statement of accused persons all the stolen fifteen Airtel joint boxes have been recovered from Imphal.

A case was registered at Chandel PS under FIR No. 8(6)21 CDL-PS u/s 379/34 IPC for further investigation.
