Three Arrested with ₹62 Crore Worth of Methamphetamine in Mizoram

Ukhrul, March 7: The Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department, in collaboration with the Aizawl Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), seized 48.061 kilograms of methamphetamine tablets worth approximately ₹62 crore on Thursday night. The contraband was recovered from the Khatla locality in Aizawl, sources said.

Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the seizure. The arrested persons have been identified as Munglamtuanga (33) from Hrianghmun village in Champhai district, Joseph Hmangaihzuala (49) from Aizawl Ramhlun South, and Zalinthluaii (46) from Zokhawthar village in Champhai district.

Authorities also confiscated a Mahindra Sumo vehicle (Registration No. AS 16 E 0044) allegedly used for transporting the narcotics. The NCB has registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs & Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and further investigations are underway.
