Chandel, July 21: A three-week long trade expo was inaugurated on Monday at the Chamdil Town Hall, Panchai village in Chandel with an aim to help the people of the district get access to quality products at a cheaper than they are in the market.
To be held till August 10 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on a daily basis, the expo is being organised by North East Trade Fair Society, Kohima in collaboration with Naga Students’ Union Chandel (NSUC).
The expo was inaugurated by Reverend Sng. John Calvin, general secretary, Chandel Naga Christian Forum (CNCF) who prayed and invoked God’s blessings for the success of the expo.

Reading a verse from the Bible, the Reverend said that in whatever one does, they must do it for the glory of God. In the same, may this expo be for the glory of God, he said.
Abui Newmai, proprietor of North East Trade Fair Society, Kohima said that they have been organising similar trade fairs across various states and this time, they decided to organise it in Chandel district. He said that latest products available in the market will be made available at the fair and expressed confidence that the fair will be a huge success with the help and support of the public.

The executive members of the NSUC also extended their best wishes to the traders and the public for the success of the expo. Such expos will give the people of Chandel access to various products available in the market at a cheaper rate, they said.
Last year, the NSUC had conducted a carnival at the Women’s Market, Japhou Bazaar in Chandel district which was also a huge success.
