TI-GHQ Joint Declaration Null, Void, and Defamatory: Thadou Students’ Association

UKHRUL: The Thadou Students’ Association (TSA) has declared the “Joint Declaration” by Thadou Inpi – General Headquarters (TI-GHQ) on March 5 as null, void, and defamatory.

In its official rebuttal, TSA, duly registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989, rejected and condemned the anonymous, unsigned “Joint Declaration” falsely issued in the name of the unregistered, illegitimate entity “Thadou Inpi – General Headquarters (TI-GHQ).”

“This fraudulent, unauthenticated document, lacking signatures, names, designations, seals, or any proof of legitimacy, has no legal standing and is a malicious attempt to defame and divide the Thadou community,” TSA stated, adding that the TI-GHQ document was an unlawful usurpation of authority, a violation of due process, and potentially criminal impersonation or criminal conspiracy.

The Thadou Students’ Association also called on the media outlets, which have published the baseless, unsigned forgery on March 5–6, 2026, without verifying its source, authenticity, authorship, or legal validity to retract publicly and stop immediately and demanded immediate corrections, retractions, and accountability from all involved outlets.

“The creation, dissemination, and amplification of this defamatory falsehood constitute criminal defamation, libel, and attempts to injure reputation and public order. Those responsible must retract publicly and stop immediately while demanding immediate corrections, retractions, and accountability from all involved outlets,” it stated, adding “TSA stands unbowed, resolute, and committed to genuine Thadou progress through law, truth, and legitimate representation—not fabrications from unregistered imposters. We urge every Thadou citizen, the wider public, civil society, and responsible media to reject this anonymous forgery outright”.
