Ukhrul: The office of the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) in a statement informed the general public that the agitation in regard to the demands as mentioned in the TKS press communique dated October 22, 2023 (Ref# 048/TKS/Press-2023) has been further extended for another 24 hours within the jurisdiction of the Saklong.

This extension was necessitated as the central and state governments failed to meet their demands.

The Saklong announced to take up various modes of intense agitation in the absence of any response from the concerned authorities in the next 24 hours.

In a previous statement issued on October 22, 2023, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) had declared their support for the directive of the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) regarding the agitation in all the Naga hill districts of Manipur with immediate effect from Oct 24 to 25, 2023.

The statement further said “Despite the repeated pleas from ANSAM to both the central and state governments and having failed to respect the office ultimatum and prolonged denying of the basic rights of citizens, the Saklong would initiate the picketing of government offices within its jurisdiction for the below-mentioned reasons:

1. To immediately lift the order of internet shutdown and restore internet connectivity in the peace area of the state.
