TKS organises Literary cum Cultural Exchange at Somra Region, Myanmar

Ukhrul: Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, the apex student body of Tangkhul community organised a one-day literary cum cultural exchanged programme at Layum Village, Somra region, Myanmar on Wednesday.

The event saw participation from thirteen (13) Tangkhul villages of the Somra region (Myanmar).

The event was organised in collaboration with the Tangkhul Naga Literary and Cultural Committee Myanmar (TNLCCM).

“The event was organised with the aim to rejuvenate the bond of brotherhood across the boundaries, wherein emphasis was made on reviving and celebrating the Tangkhul culture inspite of the arbitrary boundary that separate us,” Yuimi Vashum, general secretary, TKS, stated.

As a sign of unity and oneness, the TKS team shared a meal with the members present for the event.

As a goodwill gesture and celebration of the festive Christmas season, the visiting TKS team also gifted basic amenities comprising of sugar, salt, detergents and toiletries to the villagers attending the event.
