Training for polling personnel held in Tamenglong and Noney

Tamenglong: The first round of the training for the polling personal who would be deployed in the upcoming general election in Tamenglong and Noney District was conducted on Wednesday at Tamenglong headquarters Multi-purpose Hall, Mini Stadium, Indoor stadium, Apollo Bazar and Badminton Court, DC Bunglow.

The training program includes audio-visual demonstration on the duties of the polling personal and hands-on training on use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) will continue till January 22.

The training session also give special focus on how to use the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) that will be used in all the polling booths.

52-Tamei/Tousem (ST) AC, 53-Tamenglong (ST) AC and 54-Nungba (ST) AC under Tamenglong and Noney District will go to polls on the first phase on February 27, Sunday.

Altogether 223 Male Presiding Officer, 51 Female Presiding Officer, 679 Male Polling Officer and 153 Female Polling Officer was listed out for the three day training program.

DEO Tamenglong also constituted District Medical Board to examine applications for exemption from election duty on medical ground.

The total numbers of electors in these three ACs is 103433, where male electors stands at 50270 and female voters stands at 53163, whereas the total number of polling stands within the two districts is 209.

Valid voter ID card and vaccination certificate were also check before entering training program and those polling personal who are yet to get second dose were also vaccinated by the Medical department present during the training session. The training was conducted under the strict guidelines of the COVID 19 issued by the government.
