TRIFED opens Van Dhan outlet in Ukhrul

Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) has opened Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVK) outlet at Range office Ukhrul as part of their sustainable micro-business operations, with the blessing from Pastor Rev. Somi Kasomwoshi.

The outlet weekly timing will be from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

TRIFED, under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI, plays a key role in imparting skill upgradation, training and providing necessary equipment and toolkits for processing, ongoing mentoring support etc. so as to ensure uninterrupted execution of routine but important activities at each VDVK.  

Van Dhan Yojana, according to data provided by TRIFED has over 4 lakhs gatherers, 1568 VDVKs in over 174 districts of tribal India.

TRIBES India is the brand under which the sourced handcrafted products from the tribal people are sold. There are 120 brick-and-mortar TRIBES India outlets across the country, making it a sustainable and reliable brand.

Recently in March 2020, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between TRIFED and Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) to bring better value to the stakeholders through an array of activities, aimed at giving agriculture exports from India a boost, as envisaged under the Agriculture Export Policy, announced by the Government of India.
