Two Drug Peddlers from Assam Held with Heroin in East Khasi Hills

Shillong, October 24: Shillong, Oct 24: Two drug peddlers were arrested along with heroin at Sohryngkham in East Khasi Hills district today.

Police said that the arrested persons have been identified as Suma (42) and Sultan Mahammad Mazumder (35), both residents of Silchar, Assam. Acting on a tip-off, the ANTF set up a naka at Sohryngkham and detained a vehicle, the police also said.

Four soap boxes filled with suspected contraband (heroin) with a total net weight of 54.13 grams were recovered and seized from their possession. An FIR has been filed by the ANTF, Meghalaya, at Sohryngkham outpost for further necessary action, the police added.
