Two houses in Rilbong sealed due to COVID-19

UT News Service | Shillong, Aug 24: Two more houses in Rilbong have been sealed on Sunday after the detection of positive COVID-19 cases and high risk contacts.

These houses were sealed as per an order issued by the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills district, Matsiewdor War Nongbri.

To restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site, the order prohibits people from moving into the containment areas and inhabitants within the containment areas are also not allowed to move out. Besides this, all inhabitants within the containment areas shall strictly remain inside their homes.

The order, however, will not apply to health workers and essential workers of Shillong Municipal Board, press including electronic and print media, petrol pumps and LPG delivery workforce. Nongbrim also warned that any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and I.P.C.
