Two Rapid Action Force suspended for vandalisng private property in Manipur

Imphal: Two Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel caught on CCTV vandalising private vehicles and window panes at Yaiskul Yumnam Leikai and Moirangkhom on June 13 wee hour have been suspended.

Office order dated June 13, issued by Commandant of 106 Battalion, Rapid Action Force (RAF) Nisheet Kumar said that Sub-Inspector/ General Duty of B/106 Battalion MM Hossain and Head Constable Arun Kumar Swain of B/106 Battalion RAF are suspended with immediate effect under Rule-27 of CRPF Rules, 1955 in connection with the case and enquiry against them is being contemplated said the order.

As per the office order,  the suspended personnel will be detained at RAF 106 Battalion headquarter and they shall not be allowed to leave without prior permission.

The RAF personnel allegedly vandalised around 10 vehicles and windows of two residential houses. The damaged private vehicles which were parked in the area includes Mahindra Scorpio, Gypsy, Tata Magic, Hyundai i-10 and Suzuki alto car.

In a similar incident involving security forces, three Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel who tried to burn down a meat shop at New Checkon on May 26 night, caught on CCTV, were suspended.

In another news, in a fresh violence in vilolence-torn state, at least nine Meiteis were killed and another 10 injured in Aigejang village on the border area between Imphal East and Kangpokpi district on Tuesday night.
