TWSM Elects New Executive Team for 2025–2028 Term

Mumbai, April 13: The Tangkhul Welfare Society Mumbai (TWSM), a community-based organization dedicated to the welfare and cultural preservation of the Tangkhul Naga community in Mumbai, has elected and installed its new executive committee for the 2025–2028 term. The installation and handover ceremony was held on April 12, 2025, at Sun Beach Resort, Gorai, in the presence of outgoing leaders, advisors, and community members.

The installation program began with the formal introduction of the newly elected executives by the Election Commissioner, Mr. Achan Sharon, followed by a blessing and commissioning prayer led by Rev. Wungshungmi Zimik, Home Missionary, TBCM.

The Newly Elected TWSM Executive Committee (2025–2028) are:

1. President:- Ngamchui Rayamah, Chingjaroi CV

2. ⁠Vice President:- Lumreiphi Raikhan Wungsek, Shirui Village

3. Gen. Secretary:- Wungshok Khokyar, Kalhang Khullen Village

4. ⁠Joint Secretary:- Shitsang David Konghay, Sopleng Village

5. Education Secy:- Ngalasing Shatsang, Chamu Village

6. Joint Education Secy:- Lakmila Khongreiwo, Marem Village

7. Treasurer:- Shimreishang Shimrah, Poi Village

8. Finance Secy:- Longreingam Muivah, Muirei Village

9. ⁠Joint Finance Secy:- Yaimi Tungshangnao, Langdang Village

10. Cultural Secy:- Nimshim Phungchamnao, Langdang Village

11. Joint Cultural Secy:- Worngam Kasar, Maku Village

12. Sports Secy:- Zingshopam Lungleng, Hongmahn Village

13. Joint Sports Secy:- Thotsem R Shimray, Namrei Village

14. Information Secy:- Ramreisem R Shimray, Somdal Village

15. Public Relation Secy:- Wormipei Leisan, Lamlang Village

The event was graced by former TWSM President Mr. Somatai Raleng and his executive colleagues, as well as past and present advisors including Dr. Ngazekmi Vashum, Mr. Achan Sharon, and Mr. Khathing.

In his maiden speech, President Ngamchui Rayamah expressed gratitude to the Tangkhul community in Mumbai for entrusting him and his team with the responsibility of leadership. He acknowledged the remarkable contributions of the outgoing team, saying, “Mr. Somatai Raleng and his colleagues have set a high benchmark through their relentless service. We are committed to carrying that legacy forward and working for the betterment of our community.”

Founded in 2012, TWSM serves as a pillar of support and identity for the Tangkhul community residing in Mumbai and its neighboring regions. With its headquarters in Santa Cruz East, the society’s mission is to safeguard Tangkhul cultural values, promote social unity, and uplift the socio-economic conditions of its members through initiatives in education, health, youth development, and community welfare. Over the years, TWSM has emerged as a vibrant and inclusive platform that fosters a sense of belonging while addressing the practical needs of its people.

The installation event was marked by a strong spirit of unity, vision, and continuity, reinforcing TWSM’s commitment to building a resilient and self-reliant community in one of India’s most dynamic metropolitan cities.
