UDCRMS all set to launch Eco-Tourism at Ramrei-Muirei multipurpose project

The Ukhrul District Community Resource Management Society is all set to launch eco-tourism project at Ramrei-Muirei under Thoubal multipurpose project.

According to UDCRMS, there will be launching of cafeteria and product stalls at Ramrei Eco-Tourism site where local produces of Mapithel Dam areas villages will be made available at reasonable prices.

The local product includes agri-horticulture produces like beans, tapioca, oranges, yam, sweet potatoes, banana, papaya etc., besides scores of handicrafts and weaving items. Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Natural Resource Management Groups (NaRM-G) will be selling their farm and food product with fresh fish from dam.

Cafeteria and product stalls for SHGs and NaRM-Gs have been constructed by Ukhrul District Community Resource Management Society (UDCRMS) sponsored by the North East Council (NEC) Shillong which were recently inaugurated by Shri. Ram Muivah, IAS Retired, and Former NEC Secretary.

The program will be launched officially by the Deputy Commissioner, Krishna Kumar, IAS, chairman UDCRMS in the presence of David Kashung, CEO, Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul and Lily Rose Jajo, district project director, UDCRMS/NERCORMP, Ukhrul on the December 20, Monday at 10 am at the Eco Tourism Park, Ramrei.
