UKHRUL: Villagers of TM Kasom (Roudei) have alleged that armed Kuki militants from nearby Patleijang attacked mourners during a funeral service on Friday, May 29, 2026.
According to local accounts, the funeral was being held for an elderly villager who had died from a kidney-related illness when gunfire reportedly erupted near the cemetery.

Patleijang is a small hamlet inhabited by a few Kuki families, including internally displaced persons. The video accompanying the claim allegedly captures sounds of the attack, while narrators also allege that nearby security forces did not intervene.
A truck driver transporting essential commodities was reportedly shot dead between TM Kasom and New Heaven along National Highway 202 (NH-202) on Friday. The identity of the driver is yet to be ascertained. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement.
