Ukhrul celebrates India’s 72nd Republic Day with less diversity amid pandemic

Ukhrul marked the 72nd Republic day today at mini secretariat Ukhrul with Joseph Pauline Kamson deputy commissioner unfurling the national flag. The event however was limited to few cultural and musical performances owing to the ongoing pandemic. 

Joining the nation on this glorious occasion, Kamson who attended as the chief said, “The young Republic is marching forward with hope and aspiration, and the people are better placed in all walks of life in the pursuits of their life goals and aspirations.”

He maintained that the “strength of a nation lies in the quality and integrity” of its people.  Uninterrupted flow of funds will not bring about a sea change unless people of integrity with strong value system rule the society. For ensuring a healthy society, the good of the collective should not be undermined or consumed by the greed of the few. 

While lauding the role played by different departments, the administrator was all praise for covid-19 warrior and police department for doing what they could possibly to save lives and ensure peace and order in the district amid tough challenges.

Pitching for mass support, he said, “To ensure effective delivery of services to the people, government machineries alone is not possible, and requires the constant support of the public.”

The administrator also called upon the citizens of the district to take a pledge to defeat the veil of evil and let truth be there guiding force and reigned supreme. 

Today’s event was attended by former ADC Chairman, Members of Autonomous District Council, Ukhrul, CSO leaders  Retd. bureaucrats, SP, ADM, DLOS, Ex-Servicemen,COVID-19 Warriors, and senior citizens of the District.
