Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association Issues Condolence Message for Late Satyajit Usham

Ukhrul: The Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association (UDWJA) expressed deep sorrow over the untimely demise of senior journalist Satyajit Usham, who passed away on October 6.

Satyajit, a Sub-Editor at The People’s Chronicle, was “a passionate journalist with an exceptional career marked by dedication, integrity, and commitment to his profession,” said UDWJA.

UDWJA recognized his remarkable career, which included impactful stints with leading publications such as Matamgi Yakairol, The Sangai Express, Huiyen Lanpao, and The People’s Chronicle. His work earned him the prestigious Best Editor Award in 2013, a testament to his commitment to journalistic excellence and his contributions to the state’s media landscape.

In their condolence message, UDWJA extended heartfelt sympathy to Satyajit’s family, particularly his wife and two sons, during this difficult time. The association also highlighted that his passing is a great loss not only to his family and colleagues but to the entire journalistic community of Manipur.

“May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the message concluded, with UDWJA joining the wider press fraternity in offering their thoughts and prayers to the bereaved family.
