UKHRUL, June 19: Ukhrul district on Wednesday joined the rest of Manipur in launching a three-day State-wide Registration Camp under the Jan Kalyan Shivir Initiative 2026, aimed at expanding access to various government welfare schemes and services.
The registration drive, which will continue till June 19, is being conducted simultaneously across all four subdivisions of the district. Camps have been set up at the DRDA Hall and Mini Secretariat Complex in Ukhrul headquarters, Ngahui Radio Complex in Ngahui village, the Block Office in Jessami, and the Lingchong Maiphai Camp Office at the Mini Secretariat Complex.

According to DIO Ukhrul, the initiative seeks to ensure maximum coverage and saturation of both Central and State government schemes by facilitating on-the-spot registration of eligible beneficiaries.
A number of departments and agencies participating in the camp have established registration counters to assist residents. These include PM-JAY/CHMT Ukhrul, the Department of Social Welfare (DSW), Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF & PD), State Bank of India (SBI) Ukhrul, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), District Industries Centre (DIC), and offices of the SDOs and BDOs, among others.
The DIO Ukhrul said the camp is intended to improve outreach and ensure that eligible residents are enrolled under ongoing welfare and development programmes.

Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, visited the camp at the Mini Secretariat Complex on the opening day and inspected the various registration counters set up by participating departments.
The Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign is being conducted across Manipur as part of efforts to streamline beneficiary registration and enhance public access to government services.
