Ukhrul observe World Cleanup Day

Ukhrul: Ukhrul observed World Cleanup Day on Saturday with a cleanliness drive in Ukhrul headquarters under the initiative of 7 Sisters Foundation in collaboration with Ukhrul Police, ENFOGAL, IHAO, Lungharwo Services, Tribalgoo, Chiko, Adventures, Konghang Ngayi Youth and Phungyo Baptist Church Youth department.

Joining hands for a free waste world and a clean planet, 7 Sisters Foundation organised the cleanliness drive as part of observing World Cleanup Day.

Director of 7 Sisters Foundation, Sunny Shimrah said the purpose of taking up the initiative is to create awareness on waste management and safe disposal of waste. He further expressed gratitude to all the participants in the cleanliness drive.

Additional SP (Ops) Samir, Additional SP (Law and Order), Syed Samad along with rank and files of Ukhrul Police participated in the cleanliness drive. ADC Ukhrul provided two truck dipper for safe disposal of the waste collected by the volunteers.

Many volunteers from various locality of Ukhrul town responded by participating in the cleanliness drive that start from Phungreitang to Mini Secretariat Complex. Two truckloads of waste was collected and disposed off at the dumping site maintained by ADC Ukhrul.
