Ukhrul police launches road safety campaign; drives against tinted glass intensifies

The Ukhrul police headquarters has initiated a road safety campaign in the heart of Ukhrul town with the sole aim to drives home the importance of following road safety in the minds of the people. 

The drive was launched to create awareness about the importance of wearing helmet and avoid severe head injury in case of accident.

Two-wheeler drivers sans helmet are being detained to ensure that they strictly comply with the rules. Helmet is a statutory requirement for two-wheelers.

Meanwhile, the Ukhrul police has also taken cognizance of vehicles with tinted glass to prevent crimes and other illegal activities on moving vehicles. 

As part of its drive, vehicles with tinted glass were detained and removed. The campaign will continue.
