Ukhrul’s ‘Zingthanwo’ Lead Actor Cast in ‘The Family Man’ Season 3

Ukhrul: In an exciting development for the Tangkhul film industry, Reingaphan Awungshi, also known as Victor Awungshi, has been cast in the upcoming season of the Amazon Prime web series The Family Man – Season 3, produced by Mumbai-based D2R Films LLP.

The 34-year-old actor from Irong Tangkhul village in Senapati district has gained a huge fan base back home following his outstanding performance in his latest Tangkhul film Zingthanwo (Morning Star), produced by Ukhrul-based Meiphung Productions.

Created by Raj and DK, the first two seasons of The Family Man were a hit on Amazon Prime, portraying the story of Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer. The series is known for its blend of drama, action, and dark humor.

Awungshi has been cast alongside a few other actors from Northeast India, including those from Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. Their presence in the upcoming action-packed web series highlights the growing talents from the region, further representing the Northeast in mainstream film industries.

Awungshi, who has already acted in four Tangkhul films as the lead actor, expressed excitement about his role, saying, “I am happy to work under Jaideep Ahlawat, a prominent actor in the Indian Hindi film industry.”

“Though my role in the show is minor, I am glad to be part of this major project and learn from other crew members who are more experienced in mainstream film industries,” said Awungshi.

The Zingthanwo actor will also star alongside acclaimed Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee in the series.

The Family Man – Season 3 is currently being shot in various locations, including Kohima, Meghalaya, and Mumbai. The upcoming season is expected to bring more thrills and action-packed sequences, along with fresh talents from the Northeast.

The Family Man has won eleven Filmfare OTT Awards, five Asian Academy Creative Awards, and two awards at the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne.
