I may have lucked out on many things
But I am glad some things
Were not meant to be.
Because, then, I would have settled on
Things that came luckily into my lap.
And I would have never explored
What was beyond luck.
If things were easy and lucky,
I would not have found comfort in poetry.
I would be living half a life,
While the other half remained uncharted,
Lost to the comfort of mediocrity.
I am glad I am unlucky in some things.
