UKHRUL: The District Administration of Ukhrul on Thursday formally launched the Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) Act, 2025, the revamped version of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), 2005, at the DRDA Hall in the Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dinringam Kamei, SDO/BDO, Ukhrul, who outlined the objectives of the newly introduced employment guarantee scheme and highlighted its role in strengthening rural livelihoods. This was followed by a detailed briefing on the key provisions of the Act and its implementation framework.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Uppuluri Chaitanya, IAS, emphasized the importance of government welfare programmes in improving the lives of rural communities. He urged citizens to actively participate in developing rural infrastructure, stating that collective responsibility and community involvement are essential to achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The event also featured the live telecast of the national launch of the VB-G RAM G Act, enabling participants to witness the nationwide rollout of the programme.

Among those present were Dr. Riamei Jangmei, MCS, SDC (HQ); Yurreikan Hungyo, MCS, SDC (HQ); Duna Duo, MCS, SDO, Jessami; Roland Ningshen, MCS, SDO, Chingai; and district-level officers from various departments.
The launch programme drew an encouraging response, with nearly 500 participants attending the event.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Polly Makan, Project Director/Additional District Magistrate, Ukhrul.
