On the arrival of Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu at Dimapur airport, Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister, Y. Patton accorded VP Naidu with Guard of Honour by the 15th NAP, Mahila Battalion under the Guard Command of Assistant Commandant, Medemkala Tzudir.
Wheels down of Aircraft India 2 carrying VP Naidu was at 9:29 AM on Thursday at Dimapur airport, according to DPRO.
Reception of the Vice President was also joined by Chief Secretary, JAlam, DGP, John Longkumer, DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, CP Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo, and other officials were also present to receive the Vice President at the airport.
VP Naidu made his maiden visit to ICAR National Research Centre on Mithun, Jarnapani, Medziphema, Dimapur the same day. He was received by Director ICAR (Mithun), Dr. M.H. Khar; Principal Scientist NRC Mithun, Dr. N. Haque; Joint Director ICAR Nagaland Centre, Dr. Raj Khowa; ADC Medziphema, Imsong Meren; SDO (Civil) Tokai V Sumi and scientists of ICAR.
On his arrival the Vice President witnessed a live Mithun and fed fodder, visited the exhibition hall and addressed the gathering.
VP Naidu expressed his joy in visiting the Northeast region, being one of the richest bio-reserved states in the world. He encouraged the gathering to protect, preserve and continue to give top priority in research in the Northeast region.
The Vice President also expressed his happiness to hear and know about ICAR National Research Centre on Mithun and wished all the scientists and people working in the institute to focus more for success in the research institute.
The welcome address was proposed by Director ICAR (Mithun), Dr M.H. Khar who also highlighted the achievement and development of ICAR. Joint Director ICAR (NEH) highlighted on the activities of ICAR. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Nazrul Haque.
The Vice President was accompanied by Governor of Assam and Nagaland, Jagdish Mukhi, Deputy CM, Y. Patton, Minister of Agriculture G. Kaito Aye and DC Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan.
