The viral social media message claiming that two Tangkhul Nagas were chased and beaten by Kukis in Kangpokpi headquarters is misleading information. Reliable sources confirmed that the two Tangkhul Nagas met with an accident in Kangpokpi, colliding with a truck.

However, the viral message that they were “chased by Kukis and beaten upon disclosing their identity as Tangkhuls” is fake news, likely part of a propaganda campaign by vested groups.

The accident case was addressed by the competent authority, sources added.
