Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills Condemns False Propaganda Aimed at Inciting Violence

Kangpokpi: The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills has expressed deep sadness and has strongly condemned what it termed as a “malicious and false propaganda circulated through WhatsApp groups by certain Meitei individuals.”

These false claims suggest that the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills held a video conference with CoTU, ITLF, and SoO groups to plan a revenge attack against the Naga community for incidents that occurred in the 1990s. The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills unequivocally states that no such meeting has ever taken place, labeling the rumors as a deliberate attempt to incite violence and create further division between communities in Manipur.

The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills also said that these baseless accusations are not only unfounded but also dangerously inflammatory. The false propaganda is designed to exacerbate tensions and provoke conflict, which only serves to destabilize the region further.

Addressing the context of the ongoing conflict, the Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills stated that the “current strife was initiated by aggressive actions from Meitei groups aimed at the annihilation of the Kuki community. In response to this aggression, the Kuki people have been forced to defend themselves, their families, and their lands. The Kuki community has suffered greatly, with homes burned, properties looted, women subjected to unspeakable violence, and villages destroyed.”

The Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills reassured in its press release issued on June 24, that the “Naga brethren that there are no ill feelings towards them and urges all Naga people not to fall prey to such cheap propaganda from the Meiteis and call for an immediate end to the spread of false information that threatens the fragile stability of our region.”

The press release of the Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills was in response to the widely circulated message allegedly on June 24, on the day of Mass protest rally held in Kangpokpi headquarters and Churachanpur headquarters. Find below the message.
