Campaign on Watershed Yatra WDC-PKMSY 2.0 Held in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, Mar 13: A one-day outreach campaign on Watershed and Springshed management under Watershed Yatra of WDC-PKMSY 2.0 was held at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul. The campaign was organised by District Rural Development Agency, Ukhrul.

Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, Asish Das (IAS) attended the programme and flagged off the Yatra Walk. Speaking at the occasion, Asish Das stated that “water scarcity problems in Ukhrul are not new and it is still a challenge that we should all come forward and mediate the issue. Let us all work together to protect the watershed and rejuvenate the environment for our future.”

The oath of land and water conservation was led by DFO of Ukhrul, Gitla Laishram. David Kashungnao, Chief Executive Officer of ADC-Ukhrul distributed the horticulture saplings to WCs.

Yatra Walk, an awareness walk, was carried out by the participants from Mini Secretariat to Gandhi Chowk at Ukhrul Headquarters. As part of the campaign, tree plantation was carried out at the premises of Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul.
