Week long Children’s Residential Cultural Exchange Learning Workshop concluded in Tamenglong

A one week hill valley children’s Residential Cultural Exchange Learning Workshop concluded today at Tamenglong. The programme was jointly organised by Manipuri Dance Foundation School (MDFS) of Chandrika Trust Imphal in collaboration with Indigenous Women and Children Foundation (IWCF) Tamenglong and Inriangluang Luh Chujaeng Phuam (ILCP) Tamenglong under the sponsorship of Dr Najma Heptulla, Governor of Manipur.

During the concluding ceremony held at Mt. Gideon School, Chabagan, Tamenglong HQ, SDO Tamenglong, Mahesh Hiralal Chaudhari IAS graced the programme as Chief Guest; Disuang Pamei, Secretary, Customary Court Inriangluang (Tamenglong) Village Authority and Dilu Pamei, Asst Pastor, Tamenglong Baptist Church as Function President and Guest of Honour respectively.

Chief Guest lauded the organisers for taking up such a commendable programme to cultivate bonds between different ethnic groups. He appealed to conduct such programmes even in the days to come.

Guest of Honour, Dilu Pamei encouraged the children to move forward in life with confidence and faith in God. Function President, Disuang Pamei acknowledged the beauty of Manipur State with its diverse ethnic culture. He said, Manipur is truly a beautiful State because there’s different type of people living together with different cultures and traditions.

The function was adorned with traditional displays. Children from valley showcased their dances and moves as well as the children from the hill performed their cultural dances and songs.
