‘Without Peace, There is No Future’: Deputy CM L. Dikho At Felicitation Programme Held In Senapati

Senapati: The Naga People’s Organisation (NPO), Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA), and Senapati District Women’s Association (SDWA), on Wednesday organised a felicitation programme in honour of L. Dikho on his elevation as the Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur.

The programme was held at the Multipurpose Hall, Opposite Mini Secretariat, Senapati, attended by MLAs, former leaders, representatives of tribal bodies and district associations, administrative officials, police officials, and Naga People’s Organisation (NPO) President Kuba Peter described the occasion as a proud moment for the district.

“Today is a moment of pleasure and pride for the people of Senapati. It is not merely a celebration of political success, but a recognition of continued commitment and tireless effort towards society. His journey in public life stands as an example to all,” he said.

He further stated, “He has been an MLA not only for Mao but for everyone. We proudly call him the People’s MLA.”

Also addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Dikho expressed gratitude to God, church members, and the people for their continuous prayers and support. “Grateful to God and to all my church people who have been praying for me all the time. It is because of you all that God has answered our prayers,” he said.

Losii Dikho stressed that peace remains the foremost priority of the government. “Peace is the only way and solution. Without peace, there is no scope and no future,” he stated, urging the public to support the newly formed government in restoring stability and normalcy in Manipur.

He acknowledged the support extended by NPO leadership, SDSA, SDWA, Tribe Hoho, and other organisations, as well as state and national leaders including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, BJP and NPF leadership, and the Chief Minister for entrusting him with the responsibility.

Referring to the present situation in the state, he said the government is going through a critical phase but is committed to bringing lasting peace. He called upon the people to move forward with unity and maturity, stating that the Naga community must act as a bridge between communities.

Highlighting development priorities, Dikho described Senapati as one of the fastest-growing districts and assured focus on education, sports, youth development, and infrastructure. He announced plans to initiate a medical college in Senapati and address civic issues as well

Despite having only a year in office, he assured that the government would give its best in serving the people.

The felicitation programme concluded with prayers, blessings from church leaders, and participation from various civil society organisations and district bodies.
