World Meetei Council Tripura Unit Marks First Anniversary with Blanket and Socks Donation Drive

Agartala: The World Meetei Council (WMC) Tripura Unit celebrated its first anniversary by organizing a blanket and socks donation drive, distributing 60 blankets and 46 pairs of socks to underprivileged families, elderly individuals, and children in need.

The initiative aimed to provide warmth and comfort to families and senior citizens (aged 60–70) during winter, while also supporting children’s health through socks distribution. The World Meetei Council, formed in 2018, was introduced in Tripura on 29th Dec 2023.

“We are happy to celebrate the very 1st Anniversary of World Meetei Council Tripura State Unit with this noble initiative,” said WMC Tripura Unit President H. Bankim Singha while expressing his gratitude to all the generous donors who have supported the cause.

The event was graced by the presence of the WMC state unit Advisor Shreeti Sharma and Vice President T. Ranjan Singha.

“This milestone reflects our commitment to community service,” said General Secretary of WMC Tripura Unit Mutum Amit Sinha, thanking donors and volunteers for their support. The WMC Tripura Unit remains dedicated to promoting social welfare and uplifting the community.
