World vision and All Manipur Health Services Doctors’ Association on Saturday donated Covid kits to District Hospital, Chandel.
A press release from Asosii Loli, Area Programme Manager, Imphal West, Manipur stated that during the second Covid-19 pandemic, World Vision India has been actively supporting to the government efforts to combat and contain the surge of positive cases by supporting and strengthening the health care systems, providing psycho-social support through trained community volunteers, creating awareness around vaccination and making it accessible to all and enabling them to avail it, strengthening community preparedness to deal with the surge of Covid-19.
District Hospital Chandel, Dr. Joyson Monsang received the Covid-19 kit donation in the presence of Dr. Lolee P Mao, Gen. Secy. AMHSDA. The items donated today are as follows:
PPE KIT (Being Besharam) – 180 Nos.; N95 Mask (Aerofil) – 450 Nos.;100 ml Senitizer – 450 Nos.; Nitrile Gloves Box (50 Pairs per Box)- 9 Boxes; 1 Litre Lizol – 10 Nos.; Pulse Oximeter (Highgate) – 10 Nos.; Infrared Thermometer – 5 Nos.
World Vision India, Imphal West Area Programme in collaboration with All Manipur Health Services Doctors’ Association (AMHSDA) has supported 10 Oxygen Concentrators, 10 corrugated beds & 50 PPE Kits to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and 5 Oxygen Concentrators, 5 corrugated beds & 25 PPE Kits to JNIMS, the release added.
It furthermore stated that, apart from the above support and donation, distribution of dry ration, Cash and Voucher Programme to more than 1500 most vulnerable families infected and affected by Covid-19 registered under Imphal West Area Programme.
Asosii Loli also informed that a rapid assessment is also underway to identify disabled families and needs of children and families- tested positive for Covid-19; children who lost their parents/caregivers to Covid; children who need immediate attention on malnutrition, food security, etc. Based on the assessment finding, World Vision India will execute a systemic and sustainable plan of action, he added.
The release maintained that World Vision India serves all people regardless of religion, caste, race, ethnicity or gender and said that its reach is spread across 174 districts in India, through its long-term sustainable community development programmes and immediate disaster relief assistance.
Asosii Loli mentioned that World Vision India has been working in Manipur since 1990s in different districts like Ukhrul, Sadar Hills under Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal East and Imphal West for economic and social upliftment working for the most vulnerable and poorest of the poor families. Imphal West Area Programme started in 2012 covering three CD Blocks – Lamphel, Wangoi and Hoarangsabal. From these 3 blocks, 42 villages/leikais were selected for programme intervention focusing on Building Secured Livelihood, Quality Education and health of children and community.
