According to a statement issued by the Wung Tangkhul Region of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN), Kuki militants entered the bus at Molnom village on September 8 and allegedly checked passengers’ mobile phones. The WTR described the act as “provocative” and an attempt to instill fear among travelers in Naga areas.

“The NSCN condemns the incident in the strongest terms,” the statement read. “Any such undesirable act to spread fear and insecurity among traveling passengers in Naga areas shall be responded to in a befitting manner.”

The NSCN said it would remain “vigilant” to monitor the activities of Kuki militants, warning that similar incidents in the future would not go unanswered.
