Kohima: Organized by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports, Nagaland, the programme themed “Bridging borders, sharing cultures and building friendship,” featured cultural exchanges, site visits, and interactive activities, including visits to Puliebadze, the State Museum, Kohima War Cemetery, and Raj Bhavan.
At the closing ceremony held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, Chubarenla Longchari, DYRO, expressed satisfaction with the successful program, emphasizing its role in promoting cross-cultural understanding. She highlighted the importance of such exchanges in helping youth develop empathy, tolerance, and an appreciation for diversity, essential traits in today’s globalized world.

Longchari praised the Meghalaya delegation, noting that the program fostered creativity, innovation, and personal growth among participants while creating lasting friendships. She called for more initiatives that empower youth to realize their potential and contribute to building a more inclusive and prosperous society.
Andronikos Ryngkhlem, a participant from East Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya, shared his enriching experience during the Youth Exchange cum Exposure Program in Nagaland.
He expressed that since the first day of the program, he has gained numerous valuable experiences, which have excited and inspired him. The culture, traditions, and way of life in Nagaland, he said, have deeply fascinated him, and he believes his fellow participants share the same sentiment.

He highlighted his enthusiasm for the exchange program, mentioning that as a young individual, he has always been eager to immerse himself in new cultures, languages, and traditions.
A notable moment for him was the culinary workshop on Naga indigenous cuisine, which provided him with a unique opportunity to experience local culture.
Ryngkhlém emphasized the importance of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds, stating his belief in the power of diversity and the benefits of learning from others.
The program allowed him to form new friendships and broaden his understanding of the world. Additionally, he noted that the exchange helped improve his language skills, particularly in Nagamese, enhancing his ability to communicate effectively.

He further expressed his belief that while the program offered great learning opportunities, he also contributed positively by embracing new challenges and sharing his own culture and experiences.
Ryngkhlém hopes his participation has helped foster cultural understanding and bridge gaps between different communities.
In conclusion, he described the youth exchange program as an enriching experience that has promoted personal growth, cultural understanding, and meaningful connections. He encouraged everyone to carry forward the spirit of leadership, improve their cultures, and love one another as brothers and sisters.
