‘Youth Reached Out Campaign’ Held at Gelnel, IT Road Under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Kangpokpi, July 10: E Company of the 112 Battalion, CRPF, organised a One-Day Youth Reached Out Campaign under the Government of India’s “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” at Gelnel Higher Secondary School, located along the IT Road in Kangpokpi district.

The event drew a crowd of around 150 villagers from surrounding areas of the Tuilang region, highlighting growing local interest in anti-drug initiatives.

Dr. Umashankar Verma, Chief Medical Officer of 112 Bn. CRPF, delivered a keynote address on drug abuse and its harmful effects, particularly among youth and adolescents. He urged participants to take a stand against drug addiction and become torchbearers in the fight against rampant poppy cultivation in the area.

On the sidelines of the campaign, a free medical check-up camp was also conducted, benefitting many villagers who came forward for health consultations.

The programme is part of CRPF’s ongoing efforts to build awareness and foster cooperation with communities in addressing social challenges.
