Yuvraj Sonar Clinches First Mr. Ukhrul Title at Historic Bodybuilding Competition

Ukhrul, Aug 10: The Body Builders Association of Ukhrul District (BBAUD) under the aegis of All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) organized the First MR. Ukhrul Body Building and Fitness Competition 2024 at Town Hall, Ukhrul on Saturday. The first Mr. Ukhrul title went to Yuvraj Sonar of Royal Gymnasium. In the past, he has represented Ukhrul at state, national and international level.

The first of its kind in Ukhrul, the programme was attended by SDO of Ukhrul, Dinringam Kamei and SDC of Ukhrul, Riamei Jangmei. The programme was also attended by President of TSL, Thingreiphy Lungharwoshi, President of RKL, Paomi Khaveishang, President of THYSO, Hubert Lunghar, Headman of Hunphun, HA. Khayaiwo and others.

Speaking at the occasion, Dinringam Kamei stated that “Tangkhul are the first to have access to Western education and they have been trying to excel in all fields. I would like to congratulate the organizer for this initiative. I believe this kind of competition is the first of its kind of being organised in the hill districts of the Manipur.”

Proprietor of Royal Gymnasium, Meitei Robert Leishangthem elaborated how he first started opening a gym in Ukhrul Headquarters and gave credit o Philazan Shangh and Viku Kengoo for their support and encouragement.

President of BBAUD, Thotmayo Luithui stated that “Body Builders Association of Ukhrul District was established in 2014 and got recognition from IBBF in 2018. Since then, it has participated at the international and National and State level competition and brought laurels to the state and district.”

The Senior Men’s Body Building Winner was awarded to Yuvraj Sonar. The second and third positions went to Amung NK and Lungrieshim Kasar, respectively.

In the Junior Men’s Body Building, Khanrin Shaiza was declared the winner. The second and third positions went to Mishap Khapai and Mayongam Keitang, respectively.

In the Women’s Model Physique, Chingri Khapai walked away with the title. Leishimi Raihing and Elika Vashi were declared the second and third positions, respectively.

In the Men’s Model Physique, Pamshang Chahong was crowned the coveted title. Paotam Vashum and Ramhor PS shared the second and third positions, respectively.

Best entertainer of the day went to Koveerngam Chinir and the best poser of the competition went to Yuvraj Sonar.

The competition attracted a huge audience. Prizes to the winners were given by the various dignitaries attending the event.
