Ukhrul, Apirl 15: In a strong gesture of unity and solidarity, leaders of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) representing the Zeme, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Inpui communities reportedly convened at Konsakhul Naga village on Monday. The gathering drew an estimated crowd of around 1,200 individuals, reflecting a significant show of support and concern for the village and its people.
According to reliable sources, several key resolutions were adopted during the meeting. However, the details of these resolutions have not been made public due to the sensitive nature of the issues discussed.
It is pertinent to recall that on April 5, 2025, a large number of Kuki volunteers from a neighboring settlement had attacked the Naga village that left eight villagers severely injured, including the Village Chief, the Village Chairman, and the local pastor.
The Secretary of Konsakhul village informed that the condition of the Village Chief remains critical following the assault, and arrangements are underway to shift him to Delhi for advanced medical care.
As of April 15, both the Village Chief and the Chairman remain hospitalized and are under close medical observation by a team of doctors.
