The Zhadima Village Council (ZVC) in a press release issued on Saturday vehemently condemned Assam Rifles for conducting raid at one Roko Angami’s house on October 29 early morning hours.

ZVC called the raid a callous attitude of Assam Rifles and added that the raid at the house of Roko Angami without any reason was despicable and pointed out that the action has created animosity between the Assam rifles and the village community, setting a bad precedence and a suspicious trend among the peace loving community.

It further stated that Roko Angami is a respectable leader, currently serving as the Village Development Board (VDB) Secretary of Zhadima Village, President of Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) and President of Nagaland Football Coaches’ Association (NFCA).

The village council furthermore stated that Roko has devoted all his service for the community and has served the Indian Nation by representing the country in football and is still continuing to serve the community and sporting fraternity at large.

“The unjust and mere suspicion of the security force without ascertaining and possessing any concrete evidence for such raids has tarnished the good image of Roko Angami and  such despicable actions of the security forces is condemnable and should be condemned by all,” it added.

Zhadima Village council in conclusion noted that such action only creates bitter relationship between the community and the security forces.
