A 13-years old minor girl who went missing on June 23 has been rescued today and 4-accused persons involved in the kidnapping have been arrested by the police.
The minor girl who hails from Nagamapal Kangjabi had reportedly gone missing since 3 pm on June 23. It was also reported that the girl was last seen with two unknown women.
She has been rescued this morning (June 25 morning) and brought to RIMS Hospital where she was examined by forensic doctors.
The four arrested persons are identified as
1). Khoisnam Rebecca aged 19 years D/ O Kh. Binoy Singh of Luker Mamang Leikai.
2). Sumitra Heisnam (20 years) D/O H. Seityabarta Singh of Konthoujam Mamang Leikai
3). Jagadish Heisnam aged 29 years S/ O Seityabarta Singh of Konthoujam Mamang Leikai.
4). Soubam Tayalsana Devi aged 19 years D/ O S. Ranjit Singh of Salam Mamang Leikai.
According to the police report, an accused person Khoisnam Rebecca aged 19 years D/ O Kh. Binoy Singh of Luker Mamang Leikai was arrested from her house at around 4 am of June 25. A numberless TVS Jupiter scooter which was used in transporting the girl on June 23 was also recovered from her house.
On her disclosure, the police team located the abducted girl and rescued her from a house at Konthoujam Mamang Leikai. And two persons were also arrested for sheltering and concealing the girl. They are Sumitra Heisnam aged 20 years D/O H. Seityabarta Singh of Konthoujam Mamang Leikai and Jagadish Heisnam aged 29 years S/ O Seityabarta Singh of Konthoujam Mamang Leikai.
Further, at around 8:30 am, another involved co-accuse Soubam Tayalsana Devi (19 years) D/ O S. Ranjit Singh of Salam Mamang Leikai was also arrested from her house.
Mobile phones belonging to all the arrested persons and rescued girl have been seized by the police for further investigation.
The arrested persons are being produced before the CJM Imphal West along with a five days police custody remand prayer for further smooth and effective investigation.
