2-Day ‘Career Awareness 2021’ at Town Hall concluded with 1500 students attendance

The two day Career Awareness programme organized by Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) in collaboration with DYouth and Ikra Foundation from 30th to 31st of March, 2021 at Town Hall saw attendance of a total of 1500 students collectively from 18 different schools.

Career Awareness 2021 was organized with the objective to revive the spirit of students after the prolonged hiatus owing to the pandemic and right before these students embarked on making critical choices – to ensure they are capable enough of making informed choices to building their future careers and to motivate the students to push forward.

Resource persons covered a large number of topics on business management and entrepreneurship, academic and competitive exams, mass communication, career decision making, planning and skills, vocational education and training careers in sports, language, aviation, tourism and hospitality, music and arts, the importance of networking, the dignity of labour among many other topics. Q&A session specific to topic where asked by students which were directly addressed.

The remarkable list of enthusiastic resource persons from across the fields and sectors, across capacities were Yuikan Shirik, Salle Khapai, Mavatmi Kasar, Worrin Muivah and equally invested panellists of Angaritsing Zimik, Awungpanla Raman, Sorei Keishing, Mahaingam Zingkhai and Chanthingla Horam.

The organizers informed that the event was largely funded by generous patrons and local businesses in providing all necessary resources in different capacities. Local businesses, Shimm’s, Boba cafe, Wisdom Dental Clinic, Hao services, Things Florist, Shatsang Estate, Gracias, EZO, MPI, Pangsin, The Sam’s Tea, Live Sounds, and including those run by non-Tangkhuls assisted in refreshments, drinking water, technical support, sound system, venue arrangements, chairs, and finances.

Various local artistes also performed between sessions to liven up the event. Special mention was made of Khanthing Shimray, Chinaoshang Khamrang, Phaso Vashum, Yarshim Wungsek, The CLEF music Centre, Jumping pirates, Generation Squad X Zai-Shin.
