Kangpokpi: Authorities of 21 villages in Kangpokpi district have demanded an apology from the chairman of Konsakhul village, D. Adam Liangmai giving him an ultimatum of three days to apologise.
A press-meet held in this regard at Henjang village today said that the 21 villages have warned of blocking the road passing their villages to Konsakhul village unless D. Adam Liangmai will not comply.

It may be mentioned that D. Adam Liangmai on March 9, submitted written statements to Manipur governor, chief minister, DC and SP of Kangpokpi, and other organisations claiming that 21 villages in Kangpokpi district around Konsakhul belong to the village.

Briefing the media, chief of Henjang village, K. Lhouvum refuted the claims made by chairman of Konsakhul village, D. Adam Liangmai as baseless. He condemned him for stating that inhabitants of these 21 villages were brought in from Burma after 1950 by Kuki militants and alleging these 21 villages of carrying out illegal poppy plantation and polluting the Singda dam water.

K. Lhouvum further urged the government to visit these villages and probe these allegations to find out the truth. He also urged the relevant authorities to book the miscreants who shot two Mithuns belonging to Leilon village on March 28 when CrPC 144 was in place.

Expressing discontentment over not taking any actions against Adam Liangmai, despite filing two FIRs against him at Sapermeina Police Station, K. Lhouvum warned that the village authority of Konsakhul and Manipur government should be responsible for any unwanted consequences arising out of blocking the road.
