24 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday: Recovery rate reaches 97.21% in Manipur

Twenty-four new cases reported during the last 24 hours have pushed the total number of people exposed to COVID-19 in Manipur to 28,811 on Friday.

The recovery tally in the state also crossed 28,000-marked with the discharge of 34 patients after they recovered from the viral infections today. The COVID-19 active cases dipped to 436.

The recovery rate reached 97.21%.

As per daily update report of the state health department, the 24 new positive cases were detected during testing of 1,245 samples during the last 24 hours (till 5pm of January 15). The number of samples tested in the state reached 4,95,868.

Of the 24 new cases detected today seven were males and 17 females. All of them were from the general population. 

Six of them were from Churachandpur, five from Imphal West, four each from Imphal East and Kakching, two each from Noney and Tamenglong and one from Senapati. 

The COVID-19 death toll remained at 365 as there was no report of death due to the coronavirus today for the sixth consecutive day.
