CHURACHANDPUR, NOV 20: A 45-day Job-Linked Skill Training Centre on Food and Beverage, initiated by the Community Development Society (CDS), Churachandpur district, was inaugurated today on the first floor of Synod House, Hill Town, Churachandpur.

The training centre is fully funded by INDIGO CSR and implemented by CDS Churachandpur, with training and placement support to be handled by Vishan Hospitality, Gurgaon. The first batch will accommodate 35 trainees.

During the inauguration, the Local Pastor of EBCC, Goutanlian, dedicated the centre to the Almighty. Delivering his speech, CDS president Mr. Lianzamung Tonsing said that the initiative is a joint effort of CDS, INDIGO CSR and Vishan Hospitality, who will work together to make the programme a success.

Mr. Tonsing further stated that since the training is sponsored by INDIGO CSR, students will not have to bear any costs. “It will be free training with assured placement opportunities for the youth,” he said. He added that Vishan Hospitality — a well-known organisation with expertise across India — will provide both skill training and placement, making it a valuable opportunity for participants.

Centre Manager Miss Chingbiakhoih said the training is mainly targeted at youth between 18 and 30 years who have passed Class XII or higher. She stressed the need for regular attendance and dedication, adding that more batches will be introduced as the programme is designed to be continuous. She also highlighted that this is INDIGO CSR’s first such initiative in the entire Northeast region.

It may be recalled that many students trained by Vishan Hospitality have secured placements not only within India but also overseas, including destinations such as Dubai, Singapore and Japan. The present initiative aims to serve as a launching pad for expanding the hospitality sector in this part of India.

It is also worth noting that CDS Churachandpur, headquartered at Dorcas Veng, New Lamka, is a non-profit organisation working for community upliftment and reducing dependency among unemployed youth. The organisation is also known for facilitating online examination centres in the district, including exams conducted by UPSC, SSC and other central agencies.
