6 new Omicron cases detected in Manipur today

Government of Manipur, Health Services today informed the general public on detection of six new Omicron variant cases of SARS-CoV-2 in the state.

The press release issued by Dr K Rajo Singh informed that the total number of Omicron variant cases in Manipur is now seven.

The first case of Omicron in Manipur was reported on December 27 last when a resident from Imphal West district who returned from Tanzania tested positive.

The release also informed that all the seven persons have completed their mandatory isolation period and have been discharged with RT-PCR negative reports, adding that tracing of close contacts and containment measures are already in place as well as cross notifications been sent.
