64-year-old Vaiphei Woman Safely Rescued by Manipur Police in Jiribam

Ukhrul: The Jiribam District Police successfully rescued a 64-year-old woman from the Vaiphei community in Jiribam’s Chandrapur Rani Veng Babupara yesterday. According to a report from the Manipur Police control room, the elderly woman has been identified as Hoinu Vaiphei.

Local residents informed the Jiribam District Police of her presence around noon, following which she was safely escorted by the police and reunited with her family, Manipur Police said.

In a video message, Jiribam SP Kh Robinsun expressed gratitude towards local civil society organisations, members of the Meira Paibi, and volunteers for their collaboration with law enforcement in maintaining peace. Highlighting the recent rescue, he acknowledged the role of the CSOs and locals who informed the police, facilitating the woman’s safe transfer. SP Robinsun praised the unity demonstrated by Jiribam residents and encouraged ongoing cooperation among all communities, with the aim of fostering long-term peace and harmony in the district.
