77th Republic Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour at Pherzawl

UKHRUL: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic spirit at the Pherzawl Public Ground, reflecting the district’s commitment to constitutional values and inclusive development. Deputy Commissioner Smt.

Mannuamching unfurled the National Flag and took the salute from parade contingents led by SDPO Parbung Jangkholen Haokip, MPS.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner described the Constitution as the backbone of India’s democracy and called upon citizens to uphold its ideals to build a just, peaceful and inclusive society.

She emphasised the need to eliminate gender discrimination, ensure safety and dignity for women, and provide quality education for children.

Highlighting development initiatives, she spoke on ongoing and proposed projects such as the expansion survey of Tipaimukh Road (NH-102), completion of boys’ and girls’ hostels, construction of an EMRS at Loibual, opening of a District Transport Office, a working women’s hostel, a Community College and a Mini-Secretariat. Improvements in health, drinking water infrastructure, financial inclusion and progress under JJM and NDB schemes were also highlighted.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to 47 individuals for exemplary service. The programme concluded with cultural performances celebrating unity in diversity.
