Joining with the rest of the nation, District Administration, Senapati celebrated the 75th Independence Day at DC office complex.
Although no CSOs attended the program due to a total shutdown in all Naga hill districts on the day, the program was held in the presence of all District Level Officers, Police and personnel from 4th IRB.
Addressing the gathering, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, DC, Senapati congratulated the whole team of district medical department under the leadership of the CMO for taking the risk in fight against the spread of Covid-19. The DC also congratulated the district Police team under the leadership of the SP who are the frontline workers taking the part of Covid warriors working everyday maintaining Covid centres and law and order in the district where he called the 2 departments as the pillar of the district. Senapati can be called as one of the lowest positive rate of Covid-19 which stands hardly at around only 3%.
The DC assured of citizen’s centric approach as the district administration would continue with their mission to how easily accessible to everyone including e-office services. Any citizen can lodge a complaint through a portal app from home. Out of different developmental projects, National Highway in the district was recently inaugurated including new projects like Maram-Peren Road. The DC urged all the chairmen and secretaries of the district to cooperate when new projects are to be introduced. Another project on Karong-Kedima, an alternative route of the highway is on process to connect Nagaland state which is a dream project for the district. Construction works to be initiated soon along Tadubi-Tolloi road within 5-6 months time. Around 30 schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme is on progress in the whole district with 60-70% physical progress on the run which is reported to finish before Diwali with tap water facility to every household.
With the recent inauguration of the oxygen plant at District Hospital, Senapati, the DC assured of self sufficiency in oxygen with a minimal production of 100 cylinders in a day and also working on another plant to become Senapati as oxygen provider in near future where the DC thanked the state chief minister and the Prime Minister of the country. The DC also thanked the local PHED minister who is always be there whenever there is any emergency including the local MP, other 2 MLAs and ADC chairman of the district. The district administration is reported to work on medical problems at PHCs of Khongdei, Willong and Bendramai and assured to solve the problems very soon. The DC then expressed gratitude to all DLOs for making the district administration successful through this far in developmental fronts including the district CSOs. The DC also acknowledged the voluntary services of the Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati district for their invaluable services in tackling the Covid situation in the district by sanitizing different important places of the district.
There is Eco-Tourism development work for every Assembly constituency of the district which will take place soon. Tribal Museum work is reported to finish soon. Beautification of the town is on process by the district administration in near future which has not taken this far and called a good agenda including sanitation who sought the cooperation of all to make the program a success. PMJVK, a skill development centre to come very soon in order to showcase the skill and talents, handicrafts, etc. to create a platform to go to bigger market systems. The DC lauded the Senapati Forest Division for their best performing department in the whole Northeast states. The DC spoke about improvement of the District Library with the existing one to become a good modified modern technology district library. With regard to so many youth who returned from other metro cities due to the pandemic, the DC stated to have plans like BPO type centre which will be fully wi-fi enable where the youth from different localities can come and work in it which will be a gift from the district administration for people of the district.
The DC also stated for improvement of tourism spot at Sadim Pukhri for conservation of the lake to become one of the best tourism spot in the state which is backed by the state chief minister. In regard to make the district a self sufficient, the DC stated the importance to upgrade the local entrepreneurs by giving priorities and preference to them. The district administration is also reported to plan for a good professional parking system in the town. In order to make the society, families and people safe from the virus, the DC also urged all to go for vaccination to fight against the spread of the virus in the district. The district administration is convinced to go for all efforts to ensure Covid zero status in the district in near future.
Later, the DC distributed commendation certificates to selected district officials and Police personnel for their commendable services.
On the other hand, the Senapati District Bar Association (SDBA) hoisted the tricolour flag at the District and Sessions Court campus. Koshia Mao, APP unfurled the tricolour flag at the program.
Meanwhile, Ukhrul district celebrated 75th Independence Day at mini secretariat Ukhrul.
While thanking the public for the support given to the district administration, the DC Ukhrul has appealed the district populace to joint hands together for ensuring progress and prosperity in the district.
DC Joseph Pauline Kamson also urged the district populace to get themselves vaccinated as this is the only way to eradicate the pandemic amid looming third wave.
The DC meanwhile thanked the district healthcare workers for the good work it had rendered to the district populace.
