Lecturer Ningmareo L. Shimray, the lone teacher from Manipur conferred with the “National Awards to Teachers, 2021” selected from various other state of India, was honoured and acknowledged at the state level Teacher’s Day celebration 2021 at City Convention Centre, Imphal, organised by the Department of Education, government of Manipur.
Oja Ningmareo was rewarded cash incentives of Rs 1 lakh at the State Teachers’ Award 2021 function for his distinguished contributions. Cash incentives of Rs 50000 each, was also distributed to nine meritorious teachers of the State.
Currently serving as lecturer at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, Ningmareo is the only recipient from Manipur state out of the 44 awardees selected from various State of India for the National Awards.
Chief minister N Biren Singh said on his Facebook handle, “It gives me immense pleasure to honour Shri. Ningmareo Shimray, Lecturer, Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, who have received the prestigious National Teachers’ Award for his exemplary contributions. The State Government has also extended a reward of Rs 1 lakh to Shri. Ningmareo Shimray.”
CM Biren further added, “As a lecturer in Mathematics, Shri. Ningmareo Shimray, has shown a keen ability to think out of the box, make inter-disciplinary connections between subjects and come up with novel teaching-learning methodologies. He tries to go beyond the confines of his subject and has explored similar techniques for learning of languages and in other subjects. His creative thinking inspires many and creates a climate for innovation in his school.”
Meanwhile at the same function, CM N Biren Singh today launched the “Chief Minister’s College Maheiroi E-Support Scheme” and “Nipun Bharat”.
