Former ATK Mohun Bagan U-23 player Thomyo L Shimray has signed for Real Kashmir for the upcoming I League season. The deal with the Snow Leopards is Thomyo’s first club after serving a 6 month suspension in 2020 as a penalty for document errors by one of his previous clubs.

“The days I was serving my ban were some of the hardest of my career. I was so frustrated with how things were but it also gave me a lot of time to reflect on things. I prayed a lot and my prayers have been answered with everything that has happened since. I’m grateful to God for his blessings.” Thomyo said speaking to Ukhrul Times from Srinagar.

Thomyo’s move to Real Kashmir also sees him make a step up from playing in the Second Division I League with ATK Reserves and Bengaluru United FC to the I League, a division he has long dreamt of playing in.

“I have worked so hard to get to the I League and I’m extremely happy that I’m finally here. All the sweat and the tears that I had to go through to get to this point makes it all the more worth it.”

“I can’t wait to get started and do my best for the club. The season will be a huge challenge for me and I’m raring to get started. God willing, I will do well,” Thomyo added.
