Mary Kom, the six-times world champion pugilist underwent a reconstructive surgery on Tuesday at Mumbai to repair an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear in her left knee. She had torn her ACL at Commonwealth Games selection trials in June.
“Mary had an ACL injury in her knee for which she underwent surgery today in Mumbai,” the veteran boxer’s coach Chhote Lal Yadav told PTI.
Mary Kom took to twitter, “I will be fine very soon. Thank you Olympic Gold Quest for the constant love and support.”
