Imphal: The Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh while answering questions about the 10 tribal MLAs demanding Separate Administration from Manipur State in a press briefing held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat Monday morning said there is no threat or any changes to the integrity of Manipur.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh told media that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah acknowledges the tense situation in Manipur and that he offers his deepest condolences for the loss of many lives and destruction of properties in the recent ethnic clash between two communities while assuring the Centre will ensure peace and normalcy to return in Manipur at the earliest.

N Biren Singh further conveyed that Amit Shah gave assurance that the unity and integrity of the State would not be affected at any cost.
A team comprising of four State ministers YAS Minister Govindas Konthouja, MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand, Forest Minister Th Biswajit, Education Minister Basanta Kumar, joined by Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba and BJP chief Manipur A Sharda Devi returned from New Delhi last evening after meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the present turmoil in Manipur.
Regarding Kuki outfits under Suspension of Operation (SoO), N Biren said Amit Shah has assured that the Centre is putting efforts to bring back missing cadres of Kuki outfits under SoO to their designated camps and ease away public apprehension over the involvement of armed miscreants in prevailing crisis through Joint Monitoring Committee, consisting of State and Central forces.

N Biren Singh urged the public not to believe in the rumour that houses abandoned by those who fled to safer places have been occupied by others, as security personnel are guarding their abandoned houses.
The Chief Minister also added that personnel of the State and paramilitary forces are keeping a strict vigil along the foot of the hills while he appealed the public to stop carrying out any rallies and sit-ins and circulating any slogans and pamphlets that could hurt the sentiments of both the communities.

He also assured that the government will try its best to help and rehabilitate the victims whose houses have been burnt down and whose family members have died in the recent riot.
N Biren on May 8, terming the ethnic violence among the two communities in Manipur an “unfortunate incident and deeply saddening,” announced ex gratia:
For dead or expired – Rs 5 lakh For grievous injuries – Rs 2 lakh; For non-grievous injuries – Rs 25,000 Up to Rs 2 lakh as relief for families whose houses have been burnt, after assessment by the authorities.
The press briefing on Monday was attended by State Cabinet Ministers Govindas Konthoujam, Dr. Sapam Ranjan, Thongam Biswajit, Yumnam Khemchand and Lamshang MLA Salam Rajen.
