Ukhrul: The Ukhrul District Police on Monday organised a district level open essay and painting competition at the Ukhrul Police Reserved Line.
Around 63 students from 12 schools participated in the competition held in different categories. The topic for the essay writing competition for students of Class IX -X was “Cleanliness Is Next To Goodliness.” The theme for the painting competition for Category I (Class IX-X) was held under “Litter Makes The World Bitter” and the theme for Category II (Class VI – VIII) was “Go Green, Go Clean.”

In the painting competition Category I, on the theme “Litter Makes The World Bitter” Shanchipui Mahung Khuiyah of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School was declared the winner. Thotreishang Horam of St George School and Ngachanso N Kashung of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School were declared second and third positions respectively.
In the painting competition, Category II under the theme “Go Green, Go Clean”, Rishon Lukham of Kendriya Vidyalaya was declared the winner. M Chirngam of Jesus Goodwill English School and Chisin Ruivanao of Oriental Naga Academy were declared second and third positions respectively.

In the essay competition, under the topic “Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness,” Ningshen Heamahno of St George School was declared the winner. Ngatangkhui Shimray of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School was declared the second position and Priya Gupta of Kendriya Vidyalaya School and Yorin Shaiza of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School jointly shared the third position.
Additional SP of Ukhrul, Ringthing Hongchui and Deputy Commandant of 6th MR, Ukhrul, Thotreithing Chalamvah interacted with the participants by sharing their experiences. The students were highly motivated by their sharing.
The programme was also attended by SDPO Ukhrul, Sunil Kumar, SDPO Hopkinson Chiphang, OC Women Police, SI Vashum Meena, SI James Shimray, SI W Marchang and other officers of the Ukhrul District Police.
